2月12日重庆日报刊登的薄熙来会见加拿大总理稿件，系新华社通稿

加拿大总理哈珀周六访问重庆，与重庆市委书记薄熙来进行一个小时的会谈，双方讨论到如何密切加拿大与重庆经贸投资，以及加强民众间的纽带。另外，在重庆期间，哈珀也宣布，中国一对大熊猫将于明年正式租借到加拿大。

下午六点，加拿大总理哈珀驱车前往重庆市委小礼堂，与重庆市委书记薄熙来会面。

凤凰卫视记者胡玲：“在会见期间，重庆市方面派出了大量警员在现场进行维安，而重庆外办方面表示，这一次随行的30多家加拿大媒体只有3人可以进入拍摄，而重庆方面则只有官方媒体可以进入。”

两人会谈近一个小时。根据在场加拿大媒体透露，哈珀向薄熙来强调了加拿大与重庆历史性的良好关系，而这样的关系正在向前，尤其加拿大有众多企业在重庆发展，大量的产品也从重庆的港口运送到中国内地，双方讨论到如何进一步密切经贸投资联系。另外，哈珀与薄熙来也商讨了如何加强双方民众间的纽带。

之前，哈珀与重庆市副市长吴刚以及林业局官员，一同见证中加签署大熊猫保护与研究协议。哈珀并宣布中国的两只大熊猫将于明年租借到加拿大，为期十年，分别会在多伦多以及西部城市卡尔加里格住上五年，这也是80年代后第一次去到加拿大的大熊猫。

哈珀：“我想我的这次访问，将加中关系彻底的提升到了一个全新的水平，这对于我们两国都有利，尤其是对加拿大，所以我对此很高兴。同时我认为中国大熊猫向加拿大租借十年的协议，除了显示加中友谊外，这其中的纽带更显示了，对于未来加中两国的关系发展，中国的确有足够信心。”

发言中，他也特别称赞重庆的快速发展，并宣布将加拿大重庆领事馆升级为总领馆，以拓展加拿大企业对重庆的出口。

哈珀：“我们可以从重庆学习很多，重庆成功地成为了世界上发展速度最快的城市之一，重庆是中国开放西部战略中最成功的例子。这里的增速证明了辛勤劳动的民众可以获得平等的机遇。”

重庆是哈珀这次访华的最后一一站。晚上9点他搭乘专机离开。

哈珀一行是在结束对北京和广州的访问后，于11日上午抵达重庆的。11日晚，哈珀结束对中国的访问，乘专机离开重庆回国。
