The informal summit of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation ended a short time ago, and a series of summits discussing East Asia will be held in the Bali Island of Indonesia soon

The driving effect of the economy of East Asia has become even more apparent amid the challenges facing global economic recovery. No country is willing to miss the opportunity to reshape the future of East Asia. This year, Russia and the United States formally joined the East Asia summit.

The rapid economic development of East Asia has made many countries of other regions eager to get a piece of the action. Currently, many mechanisms exist and many negotiations are going on in the economic cooperation of the East Asia. The Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement (TPP) proposed by the United States is one of them

The coexistence of many negotiations and mechanisms has a positive side. If the situation develops well, it will strengthen the cooperation of the East Asia, promote the integration of the region and be helpful for the sustainable economic development of the world. China has established foreign trade relations with many countries and holds an open-minded attitude towards any proposals promoting the economic integration and common prosperity, including the TPPThe risk behind such coexistence must not be ignored either. The overlapping and complexity mean that the coordination work will be harder and the administrative costs higher. A key point that must be emphasized is that replacing the current cooperative mechanisms with new cooperative mechanisms will severely damage the economy of Asia and even the world. Abrupt replacement will disturb practical cooperation, and even lead to chaos and suspend the various cooperative mechanisms

The active economic cooperation of East Asia is hard earned, and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations and three countries of China, Japan and South Korea (10+3) are the foundation of the regional cooperation. This valuable cooperative mechanism, which can bring abundant benefits, must be cherished, and more importantly be strengthened and promoted. In this aspect, the summit series of the East Asia will hold a heavy responsibility.

Cooperative opportunities and fruits are the key to judging the effectiveness of a cooperative mechanism. Who dominates the cooperative process is not important. Equal consultation is essential for pressing ahead with cooperation in East Asia. Clinging to ones own interest and attempting to establish one's dominance by elbowing out others will be harmful to all.

Large countries participating in cooperation in East Asia should have comfortable girth, and do more concrete things for advancing the regional cooperation.
