adverse “不利的”，与unfavorable和disadvantageous 同义。副词adversely “不利地”相当于negatively 的意思。
1) It is generally agreed that watching too much TV programs may have adverse / negative / unfavorable effect on children. （人们普遍认为,看太多电视节目可能对孩子们造成不利影响。）
2) The country’s progress towards recovery from the economic depression has been hindered by a number of adverse/unfavorable circumstances. （这个国家从经济萧条复苏的进程受到许多不利,走向经济从经济萧条已经阻碍了一系列的不良/环境。
3) In view of the recent development disadvantageous to them, they have to abandon their program. （鉴于最近发展对他们不利,他们不得不放弃他们的程序。）
