       这三个副词常用来“大量地”的意思，从数量概念上修饰表示增加或减少的动词，用法区别不
大，常可换用，其中dramatic / dramatically 语气最强。

 

       1) Production has been considerably increased since the introduction of the new technique.

          （自从引进这项新技术以来，生产已经有了很大提高。）

2) Credit Suisse has boosted profitability while subtantially reducing thr risk on its balance.

 (瑞信提升盈利的同时大大地降低其资产平衡的风险。)

3) However, by burning fossil fuels such as coal and gas, we have dramatically increased the amount of
carbon dioxide in the Earth's atmosphere.

           （然而,燃烧煤与天然气等石化燃料,我们大方提高了二氧化碳在地球大气层中的总量。）

   

    这三个副词相应的形容词是considerable、substantial、 dramatic 用于修饰表示增加
或减少的动词表示“大量的”意思。

 

1) They notice that there is a considerable / substantial increase in their sales this month in comparison
with those of last month.

            （他们注意到与上个月相比这个月的销售量有相当大的增加。）

        2) Recent findings suggest that there could have been substantial/dramatic biological exchange
between the planets.

           （最近的研究表明行星之间可能有大量的生物交流。）
