    生物谷报道:另类拼接过程的存在,能使一个基因产生多种蛋白。现在,一种新型RNA图被绘制出来,该RNA图可以反映短的RNA片段是怎样影响另类拼接过程在大脑中被控制的方式的。这一成果被发表于最新一期的《Nature》期刊上。

    研究人员知道,另类拼接过程为大脑中所发生的过程增添一层复杂性,但它到底是怎样被调控的(有时会失控而引起疾病)却仍然不清楚。该新型RNA图将生物信息学、生物化学和遗传学方法结合起来确定一组规则,按照这些规则,Nova基因调控小鼠体内神经元特有的RNA结合蛋白的拼接增强子或沉寂子的活性。这些结果有助于我们了解学习和记忆等大脑功能以及神经疾病和癌症生物学。
