專業舞蹈家表演得很精彩。

Getting (或being) on the ball. Mr. A finally finished the project.

A先生下了一番工夫，最後完成計劃。

(這裡用getting，表示進展較慢，故加 finally，比較合理。但如用 being，則不必加 finally)

I am on to him.

to be on to someone (or something)意思是知道某人的意圖或內幕(to be aware of someone or something)

也就是：I know what he is up to and what he will do next.所以上句意思是：我知道他搞什麼鬼。

其他造句：

Stop playing dirty tricks on us; we are on to you now.

不要耍花招；我們現在知道你們在搞什麼花樣。

The more I talk to her, the more I am on to her.

我與她談得越多，越識透她的意圖。

The scientists claim that they are really on to something in cancer treatment.

科學家宣稱他們對癌症的治療有所瞭解。

I have been on to Mr. A since his childhood.

自從A先生孩童時期我就瞭解他。

注意：如果動詞用come，是指對異性動腦筋，有sex advance意味，故要小心。

He comes on to her.(他對她動歪腦筋)

to save the day意思是防止某種壞事的發生，扭轉局面，或解決問題(keep something bad from happening; solve the problem)

其他造句：

Just wait and see; Bob will save the day!

等著瞧吧！Bob將會轉敗為勝。

It seems a little complicated; what if we cannot save the day?

這似乎有些複雜，假如我們無法扭轉局面怎麼辦？

We would not be in hot water if we could have saved the day.

如果我們能挽救局面，就不至於困難重重。

注意：to make someone's day又是令某人十分高興

To lay(all) one's cards on the table是把自己的打算全盤托出(have told everything )

(lay的動詞時態：lay, laid, laid, laying)

其他造句：

A先生發現妻子與另一男子有染時，他陷入困境。

He will have to face the music if he bounces a check.

Many retirees have faced the music when their incomes shrank.

許多退休者收入縮減，面臨困境。

(動詞時態：shrink, shrank, shrunken或 shrink, shrunk, shrunk)

They no longer see eye to eye.

to see eye to eye 是指看法完全一致 (totally in agreement)

所以上句意思是：他們意見不再一致。

其他造句：

I am delighted you both saw (pretty well) eye to eye on (或in) this matter.

(pretty well只是加強語氣，可以不用)
