Network Response Time
Network response time is a combination of related factors such as baud rate, instruction word length and the type of transmission media use. The panels in the 4120 network are configured so that details of individual point attached to each panel on the network are pre-programmed. Network point data such as device type and custom label are not transmitted between each panel. The message is therefore smaller and easier to process resulting in higher throughout and response time.
The Simplex® 4120 does not need collusion avoidance. Collusion avoidance can reduce respond efficiency by as much as 70%. Token rings have determinable data rates unlike some networks which can not ensure a typical response time when the system expands. Typical response time in the 4120 network is 0.8 seconds.

The TCP/IP Physical Bridge offers Solutions for
· Multiple Simplex® 4120 fire panel and networks to be interconnected over the customer’s TCP/IP LAN
· Converting the serial output from the bridge for transmission over the LAN
· Providing alarm and trouble reporting as well as control operations over a Style 4 or Style 7 redundant connection
