Jane and her husband Kim Taylor raised and adopted more than 60 cats and she photographed them at their studio in a converted school near Guildford, Surrey

Some of these mischievous moggies were captured on film during Jane's final months as she battled cancer

Jane endeavoured to capture the essence of what every cat lover sees in their own pet by letting her subjects grow up as kittens in and around the studio

Kim, who still lives at the couple's studio where he and his son also photograph a variety of other animals, said the photos were typical of Jane's talent for capturing animals at their best

"Cats are notoriously hard to photograph in the studio but Jane managed to achieve what many photographers have been unable to do," he said

"Jane was not just a talented photographer, she had trained as an artist and, with just a few unerring pencil lines, she could produce lifelike representations of animals," he continued
