《英语语法句法窍门》之8讲：“I drop cars”
在insist，demand，require等动词的宾语从句中一般要用虚拟语气，动词形式为should＋动词原形，should可以省略。常见的这类动词有哪些呢？为了便于记忆，我们不妨将这些动词的首字母巧妙地排列起来，使其成为一个句子：I drop cars．现以这个句子的字母先后顺序举例如下：
1）I insisted that he（should）come with us．
2）I demand that John（should）go there at once．
3）His health requires that he（should）go to bed early．
4）The officer ordered the men（should）fire the guns．
5）I propose that we should start early．
6）She commanded that we（should）attack at once．
7）I advised her that she should walt．
8）I required（of him）that he（should）leave．
9）I suggest that we（should）bring the meeting to anend．
以上例举了9个常用动词，其中有两个动词的首字母是r。
值得一提的是：上述句子的宾语从句都是表达一种建议、看法，都未成为事实。若用其它动词形式，则意义不同。如：
I insisted（to every one）that he was wrong．
insist意为“坚持说（to declare firmly）”。
Her expression suggested that she was angry．
suggest意为“表明（to give signs of）”。
总之，运用时，我们应分辨这些词的意义，正确使用陈述语气或虚拟语气。
