meeting、conference、congress convention、session；
party、gathering、assembly、rally

meeting 普通用词。
conference 正式用词，指集合在一起进行讨论、交换意见较正式的会议。
congress 指来自不同团体的代表参加讨论或决定有关重大事项的会议。
convention 指社会团体或政党为了某一特殊目的而召开的大会。
session 指大会中举行的分会议。
