    Good morning. More and more people are beginning to realize the importance of keeping healthy these days than ever. They begin to know that good health is the most valuable possession a person can have, which lies in two ways: mentally and physically. However, some people don't know how to stay healthy. For instance, they can’t get away form bad habits like smoking, drinking and staying up. In my opinion, there are a few things we should do if we want to be in good health.
       First, we should try to keep optimistic, because positive attitude toward life is the most important.

     Secondly, proper nutrition is the most important for good health.  So we should avoid foods with lots of sugar and fat and eat plenty of high protein foods, vegetables and fruits.

Thirdly, we should get proper amount of sleep, because without enough sleep, we will often feel tired and irritable, so that we can’t finish our work properly. I think at least eight hours of sleep each day is necessary for adults.

Finally, we should take exercise regularly. Regular exercise strengthens our hearts and lungs, which make us energetic and happy.

If everyone is to do so, there will be more healthy people and there will be much more happiness in our life.

Money now appears more powerful than anything else and drives people crazy. The temptation of money often challenges one's honor. We are not ashamed to make more money to have a better life by our sweat. However, there is a widespread concern that millionaires become the heroes no matter whether they make any contribution to our society. Some people try desperately to make big money, which, more often than not, end up with degradation, corruption and crime.
    Though money is indispensable to our life, dirty money may drag us into hell. There are many things no money can buy. We will keep our honor intact at any cost because it is our soul. Love of money is the root of all evil. For myself, I would rather die than dishonor myself for money.

The following aspects could best illustrate the advantages of Internet. Netsurfers (网上冲浪者) in different countries can share interesting knowledge and the latest information. Besides, Internet has provided a major opportunity to buy and sell merchandise (商品). What is more, people may get medical help or even vote on Internet. Its advantages seem countless.
     Behind all this glowing talk, however, are some problems. Internet makes people passive by stopping them making their own entertainment. So much so that when there is a breakdown or jam, people may find that World Wide Web turns into World Wide Wait. What is worse, some children have access to the scenes of violence and sex. Apart from these, it can be affected by viruses(病毒) and hackers (黑客).

In my opinion, we can use it. But we shouldn't spend too much time on it and don't let it disturb us from our studies. And we should not easily tell people our phone numbers who we don't recognize.

In our accommodations, many students have computers. Also we can see in the electronic reading room and the cybercafés, rows of students sit in front of the monitors. Computers play an important role in our everyday life.  

We use computers to cope with files and photos etc. And the internet is just a large database and we can get on the internet to search for anything we need through the computers. We can keep in touch with the others with the emails, msn and QQ etc. Enjoying ourselves in music, games and movies can loosen us after nervous classes.  

Each coin has two sides. Disadvantages of the computers can also do harm to us. Most of us students use the computers more to play games and chat with strangers than searching for useful information. That’s a waste of time. There is so much rubbish on the net, which are some medium messages about crime or sex. It does harm to our minds.

 From all above, we should learn to use computers in our own right ways. The computers doesn’t have no responsibility, it depends on the way we use them.

The teacher must know that he should be neither too tough, nor too permissive. If he is too tough, the student may be frightened and discouraged. If he is too permissive, the student may become lazy and careless. So his attitude should be between the two extremes. He should be strict yet friendly.                 Should the University Campus Be Open to Tourists？

       Nowadays, some famous universities have become a hot tourist attraction. Many middle school students and ordinary tourists swarm into university campuses such as Peking University and Tsinghua University. They can enjoy the intellectual atmosphere there and also be a part of it.
       When it comes to whether the university campus should be open to tourists, different people hold different views. Some argue that since most universities belong to the country, every citizen has a right to visit them. What’s more, middle school students can have a good impression of the universities, which will set a definite goal for themselves. However, other people maintain that the visitors will distract the attention of teachers and students in universities; therefore, their visit should be banned.
       As I see it, the visit brings people both benefits and harms. We should open most parts of universities to visitors; meanwhile, some private or important parts should not be opened. Only in this way can we satisfy both tourists and universities.

    Many things have been done and great progress has been made in the greenization of our cities in recent years. Many trees have been planted and much care has been taken of the planted trees. But, in spite of all this, greenization in the cities in China is far from satisfactory compared with cities in other countries in the world. For example, the green space for every people in Shanghai is only 2 square meters while that of the people in London exceeds 20 square meters.

    We can benefit much from the greenization of our cities. First, trees absorb carbon dioxide which is harmful, but produce oxygen which is essential to human beings. Secondly, with trees all around, our cities will look more beautiful. Thirdly, trees can improve the climate of the cities, making it neither too hot in summer nor too cold in winter.

Since we can get so much benefit from making our cities greener, we should spare no effort to do so. We should plant even more trees and take even better care of them while they are growing. Besides, we should not cut down trees any more. In a word, we should do everything to add to the greenization of our cities.

It isn't surprising, to you and me, given the choice between getting a cavity filled or getting stuck in a traffic jam, that most people would opt for a dentist chair over the drive's seat. People working or living in overcrowded cities are constantly upset by traffic, and together with it, housing problems.

 Above all, we are to realize what it is that leads to such problems.

The chief troublemaker of the traffic congestion is that there are more vehicles than the roads can hold. Housing problems mainly derive from the centralization of business activities and the fact that more migrants from rural areas are attracted and thronging to cities for better financial and living prospect. These two troubles also interact upon each other.

Relocation of large companies, factories and their employees to the rural areas is a sensible proposal. It does serve to reduce urban vehicles and housing density, as the related businesses such as food, recreation, education, construction will be decentralized accordingly.

What’s better, as we relocate the large companies and factories, more employment opportunities are opened up along with it. To guarantee their smooth running, the government and investors alike will have to renovate infrastructure in the rural areas. If the rural population were convinced that the country is getting better and money can be earned there just the same, they would not bother to go to cities.  

In brief, relocation of the large companies and factories in the countryside is a nice proposal. It serves not only the interest of the public but also that of the vested interests greatly.

Competition makes people original and creative. It very necessary to compete if human society wants to advance. (Even animals compete for survival.) Without it, we would become lazy and nobody would rake any responsibility. When three monks live together, there will be no drinking water. This Chinese proverb vividly collapse.

Competition can stimulate people to try their best to do anything. For example, in 100-meter race, each sportsman runs as quickly as possible, trying to win the champion. The same things happen in our society and in our daily life. If a company wants to surpass others, it must compete with them. It must raise its efficiency. All the companies doing this will no doubt benefit the whole society and the whole human race.

Being a student, I must compete with other students in our studies. I must study hard in all the fields so that I can be a useful man when I enter the society after graduation.

14. 出国留学(Overseas studying)

   In recent year, overseas studying is very popular. More and more people go abroad in order to studying.

   Different people have different ideas on this phenomenon. Some people think that it is no necessary, because they think that the knowledge in motherland is enough. However, other people approve of overseas studying. They think it is helpful to improve themselves in learning and working.  

   In my opinion, it is beneficial. First, it provides many chances for people who want to make progress; second, it is a mind-expanding experience, people who went abroad can obtain the culture, customs and so on; third, facing with the vocational pressure nowadays. It is very important chances to overseas studying .

   So I think overseas studying is very important to everyone.

    Whether students who study inside the campus can get a part-time job or not is a topic which is being discussed .Some students say yes to it because they think it can help them understand their parents' hardship while some don't agree with it, saying it's a waste of time for study. 

In my opinion, a student can get a part-time job on condition that it doesn't have a side effect on his normal study in the daytime. As a matter of fact, the good effects that a part-time job brings to a student should be more than the side ones because taking a part-time job can bring students more chances to get in touch with society. What's more, it also makes students experience the hardship of making money. However, students who get a part-time job should control the time for part-time job as well as pay attention to their safety when they go to work. Besides, they should spend their income from the part-time job reasonably.

     We live in a commercial society. Everything that we use is merchandise. In the commercial world the media is money. Therefore, money is very important to us. Earning money and spending money are big problems not only to the adults but also to the kids.
     Kids have a long way to go in their lives. What they will be depend on the influence that they get before the age of 20.We must give them positive influence during their childhood.
     We should give a kid a little money when he is 9 years old. For instance, we can give a kid 10 yuan every month, and ask him to write us a report on how he uses the money. This can give him a right idea of how he should use the money.
      We also should give the kids some chances to earn money, by which means we can show them that earning money is not easy, and they should spend the money carefully.
      The most important point is that we must tell the kids that money is not everything in our lives. There are lots of things that we can not buy with money, such as health and love.
      Consequently, the best we could do to provide the kids with a correct understanding of money is let them approach money closely. We should give a little money to the kids and tell them what money is at all.

On Clothes

Clothes play an important role in our daily lives. They protect us from the strong wind in cold winter and prevent us from the unbearable heat in hot summer. They can even make men handsome and women attractive. They also distinguish people in different fields. For instance, we can tell a soldier from a policeman simply by the uniforms they are wearing. Clothes can reflect many things about a person. They can represent a person's social status, his likes and dislikes, his hopes, dreams, and so on.
