She is famous for applying classical educationsuccessfully with impoverished students, many of whom had been wronglylabeled as learning disabled by public schools. She once wrote, "I havediscovered few learning disabled students in my three decades ofteaching. I have, however, discovered many, many victims of teachinginabilities."
