枪花乐队诞生于1985年的好莱坞，是美国摇滚乐史上继性手枪以来最受争议的乐队，乐队是由两支乐队L.A.GUNS和AXL.ROSE合并而成的，因此双主唱“枪”和“玫瑰”的完美和音一直是枪花乐队的招牌特色。

六十年代英国产生了不少经得起历史考验的乐队，而PINK FLOYD乐队无疑是其中最伟大的一支，从某种意义上讲，它对于摇滚发展的贡献要大于被尊称为摇滚鼻祖的BEATLES，Pink Floyd在摇滚领域许多方面的开拓和创新为它投下了耀目的不朽的光辉。
1965年，天才青年、21岁的Syd Barrett与另外三名乐手组成了PINK FLOYD乐队〔乐队名字取自他尊崇的两名布鲁斯歌者的名字Pink Anderson和Floyd Council〕，他能文能武，写歌、演唱，吉他弹奏样样拿手。乐队在乐器演奏上的实验精神，以及Syd Barrett词作笔锋犀利、曲式轻松闲雅的创作力很快就让自己在英国摇滚圈里享有了较高的地位。

世界上没有几个歌者能象KURT COBAIN那样在死后得到众多乐迷们“摇滚之神”般的供奉。
90年代，美国的失业危机重新抬头,朋克乐在音乐界再度爆炸，西雅图的Grunge音乐风暴引起了强烈的反响与轰动，KURT COBAIN组建的NIRVANA〔涅磐〕堪称GRUNGE的领军人物。

1985年主唱兼吉他手John Rzeznik与玩重金属乐的表哥Robby Takac找来前鼓手George Tutuska，于美国纽约州水牛城组成了三人摇滚团体Goo Goo Dolls。乐队在发行前五张专辑的过程中，虽然赢得了一些好评和人气，但是乐队并未树立自己的音乐个性，因此也未能从众多的另类摇滚乐队中脱颖而出，大红大紫。

SOUL ASYLUM是成立于1983年的另类摇滚乐队，成立时乐队奠定的风格是暴躁的朋克和硬摇滚风格，在当时美国众多的此类型地下乐队中并没有脱颖而出，乐队的几张专辑也并没有引起怎样的轰动.
由于长期排练和演出中巨大声响的侵害，主音吉他兼主唱David Pirner〔大卫.皮尔纳〕的耳朵失聪了，然而即使如此，他也并没有放弃对音乐的执著追求，而且因祸得福，他们开始排练一些原声的作品，却取得了无以伦比的成功。
1992年，他们推出的一张专辑《Grave Dancers Union》〔凄惨舞者联盟〕，一张深沉而不失柔情的原声专辑刚一登榜就引起了从乐评者到普通乐迷的巨大惊喜，专辑中的很多作品都是经典之作，而《runaway train》〔迷失列车〕更成为世界级的摇滚经典。
在乐队随后的专辑中仍坚持了此张专辑奠定的音乐风格，乐队的歌迷和专辑销量与日俱增，外型英俊的乐队的灵魂人物皮尔纳甚至成为了美国九十年代的另类偶像。
2000年，乐队推出了精选集《Black Gold: The Best Of Soul Asylum》，迎来了事业的又一高峰。在众多专辑中，我最钟爱的当属《Let Your Dim Light Shine》，或许是先入为主的缘故，因为这就是我首度接触即产生难以置信共鸣的那张专辑。
推荐的这首《runaway train》堪称Soul Asylum的扛鼎之作，这是首描写失踪儿童问题的作品，在清脆干净的吉他、不动声色的鼓点伴奏下，主唱皮尔纳沧桑沙哑的嗓音从喉底或者说从心底吟出最深沉的悲愤与控诉，悲伤和愤怒的极至通常不是血泪泣诉或狂吼一气，而是近乎平和的，淡淡的陈述，而这却更容易渗入听者的心底。心随着略含悲意的音乐起伏，似乎看到了失去亲生儿女的母亲那无助、失神的目光。

SOUNDGARDEN和NIRVANA引燃的GRUNGE大火熊熊燃烧了摇滚史上的整个九十年代，在这个时期涌现的无数乐队纷纷效仿之，比拼失真、扭曲的吉他噪音。美国有两支乐队却顶风执著重金属音乐并成功突出重围，不仅出色地演绎、发展了重金属音乐，而且也创造了神奇的唱片销量，乐队更成了格莱美奖和NOW！音乐厂牌的超级宠儿。其中一支就是大名鼎鼎的BON JOVI乐队，而另一支正是MR.BIG。

这首《To be with you》无疑是乐队最为出色的一支柔情作品。整部作品洋溢着一种享受音乐创作的轻松气氛，音乐从不易察觉的乐队成员相视笑声起始，掌控节奏的鼓点随之而起，主唱磁性的歌声恰到好处的融入进来，歌声中饱含着源自心底的深情乞求，丝丝椎心痛楚传入听者心底，而此时乐队其他成员的合音顺势将音乐的深情引入极至，主唱歌声与背景合音的一唱一和交相辉映也成就了这首音乐的最突出的特点。特别值得一提的是 Eric Martin 的演唱，他那优雅而深情的演绎风格是其他重金属歌手身上找不到的。音乐背景中的吉他扫弦也非常见功底，给整首音乐增色许多又不喧宾夺主，这全部归功于技艺非凡的吉他手Paul Gilbert，因此MR.BIG每首歌曲中都有一段经典耐听的吉他SOLO也成就了MR.BIG的独特音乐个性。

德国历来盛产暴躁的工业噪音乐队，但颇为怪异的是，却是SCORPIONS[蝎子]这支注重旋律动听的重金属乐队屹立于世界摇滚乐坛之巅。
成立于上世纪六十年代末的SCORPIONS，一直以令人叫绝的双吉他演奏和主唱嘹亮干净的高音而闻名乐坛，并且三十年不变的坚守并不断发展流行重金属的音乐风格，即使是在重金属处于最低谷的时候，正是因为他们这种从不屈从唱片市场的压力、不随波逐流去谄媚听者、静下心来铸造自己钟情的音乐风格的硬骨气，蝎子在创作了无数经典音乐的同时，也给乐队本身打上了“不朽经典”的金色烙印。
蝎子乐队最早成立于1969年，由 Rudolf Schenker（rhythm guitar/vocals）是乐队的组织者与灵魂，而他也正是蝎子乐队唯一一位自始至终的成员。
经历了30多年的风风雨雨，乐队的人员经历了多次变动，最多时6人，而目前，乐队只剩下 Klaus Meine〔leader vocals〕, Rudolf Schenker, Matthias Jabs〔leader guitar〕 三名成员。三员摇滚老将各个身怀绝技，Klaus Meine那嘹亮干净的高亢嗓音以及炉火纯青的唱功，即使在欧美顶尖摇滚乐队里也是数一数二的，而且还写得一手极棒的歌词，内涵颇深。Rudolf Schenker作为乐队的领导者，乐队每首作品的作曲基本上都是由他包办的，而蝎子作品旋律的优美、流畅、大气也正是乐队风靡世界的金字招牌。而Matthias Jabs凌厉无比的吉他扫弦，更是技艺非凡，主音吉他的大段吉他SOLO技巧性高，又极为耐听，也是蝎子乐队的音乐特色。1
989年，他们在俄罗斯举办了数场演唱会，从而成为第一支到前苏联开演唱会的西方资本主义国家摇滚乐队，这次俄罗斯之行使他们对前苏联这个在西方世界都感到难以想象的国家有了一个新的认识，在莫斯科街头感受阵阵微风，更促使 Klaus Meine 写下了他最著名的歌曲 《Wind Of Change》。成为了乐队最受认可的世界性曲目。始终绕梁的是音乐中悠扬的令人叫绝的口哨SOLO，它使这首歌骤然有了灵魂。
这首《send me a angel》出自乐队与BERLINER PHILHARMONIKER〔柏林爱乐交响乐团〕合作的精选专辑《Moment of glory》〔辉煌的一瞬间〕。音乐前奏初始是气势极为恢弘的交响乐，磅礴的音流几乎压迫得难以呼吸，忽然音乐一转，舒缓悠扬的管乐演奏演奏却将曲调从慷慨激昂挽至款款抒情，柔婉的旋律异于蝎子高亢的音乐风格，却是同样的动听入心至极。在吉他solo之中，歌手的歌声契合地插入进来，主音Klaus Meine高亢嘹亮又不失沙哑磁性的嗓音在此时却压得极为低沉，嗓音的穿透力依然未减，更增加了万般哀婉沧桑的深情。粗犷沙哑的歌声来自节奏吉他兼主音Rudolf Schenker，他嗓音的浑厚与Klaus Meine嘹亮嗓音形成了鲜明的对照，却同样蕴含深邃的感情。如果用乐器来比喻的话，Klaus Meine的嗓音嘹亮、高亢、细腻就像管弦乐之王－－小提琴，而Rudolf Schenker的歌喉的低沉、浑厚、粗犷就如同无比抒情的大提琴，两者完美地配合演绎，让这首音乐极富听觉上的享受和魅力。曲至高潮，两名主音在恢弘的管弦乐协奏下高亢的一浪接一浪的“Here I am”如澎湃的波涛猛烈冲击你的心房，形成了此首音乐让人记忆最为深刻的特色。
